These terms set clear expectations while preserving the mandatory consumer rights available where you live.

Acceptance

These terms apply when you install, access or use Ik Onkar. By using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app. If you make choices for someone who cannot accept these terms independently, you confirm that you are authorised to do so.

Blue Sparrow operates Ik Onkar as a solo developer based in India. These terms work alongside Google Play terms, provider terms for optional services and the Ik Onkar Privacy Policy. Mandatory consumer protections available where you live remain unaffected.

Service

Ik Onkar provides curated Sikh-wisdom content and tools for prayer, reflection, meditation, breathing, reminders, progress insights, sharing and intentional device use. Much of the reading and practice experience works offline after installation. Account, purchase, support, sharing and store-update features need connectivity or a third-party destination.

Ik Onkar is a personal spiritual-practice and digital-wellness aid. Passages, transliterations, translations, meanings, historical context, statistics, prompts and exercises are for reflection and general information. They are not medical, mental-health, religious-authority, financial or other professional advice, and they do not promise a spiritual, health or productivity outcome. Translations and contextual notes may contain errors or interpretive choices. Consult an appropriate primary source, Sikh scholar or qualified professional when accuracy or personal wellbeing matters.

Accounts and security

You may use core features as a guest. Optional Google sign-in creates a Firebase account connection and a limited Firestore profile used for identity and premium-access functions. It does not currently enable practice-data backup or cross-device synchronisation.

Use only an account you are permitted to use and protect your device, Google account and authentication methods. You are responsible for activity carried out through your device or account unless applicable protections provide otherwise. Notify [email protected] if you reasonably believe account access has been compromised. Some account actions may require recent authentication.

The in-app account-deletion action has known coverage limits described in the Privacy Policy. It does not itself cancel a subscription or remove every local or provider-held record. Contact [email protected] for a broader data request.

Responsibilities

Use Ik Onkar lawfully, safely and respectfully. You must not:

  • Interfere with the app, connected services, security controls or another person's use.
  • Attempt unauthorised access, introduce malicious code, automate abusive requests or evade purchase and feature limits.
  • Misrepresent an identity, submit unlawful or harmful support content, or infringe another person's privacy or intellectual-property rights.
  • Redistribute substantial collections of passages, translations, explanations, audio, software or branding without permission where those materials are protected.
  • Present app commentary as an authoritative scripture edition or use it to mislead others about Sikh teachings.
  • Configure app-pausing features in a way that creates danger, prevents access to essential device functions or violates rules applying to a managed device.

You are responsible for choosing suitable reminder, strict-mode, app-pause and temporary-access settings. Keep emergency, accessibility, safety and essential communication needs in mind before restricting an app.

Subscriptions and purchases

Ik Onkar offers free functionality and may offer trials, subscriptions or other premium products. The features, price, billing period and any trial conditions shown at purchase are the terms for that offer. Google Play processes payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds under its rules; RevenueCat helps validate and deliver entitlements. Blue Sparrow does not receive your full payment-card details.

Subscriptions may renew automatically unless cancelled through Google Play before the applicable renewal time. Deleting Ik Onkar or an account does not cancel a store subscription. Manage or cancel it in Google Play. Feature access may take time to refresh and can depend on a valid receipt, network availability and the store account used for purchase. Any refund or cooling-off right required where you live remains available.

Blue Sparrow may change future prices or plan contents with notice required by the purchase platform or applicable consumer rules. A change will not retroactively alter a completed one-time purchase.

Cloud features

Optional sign-in, the limited Firebase profile, support submission and purchase validation depend on third-party providers. Their availability, account rules and privacy terms also apply.

The current app does not provide Google Drive backup, restore or practice-data synchronisation. Setup documents or older screen text describing those features are not a promise that they are available. Keep your device protected and make any user-controlled exports you need. Sharing and export are convenience features; after you choose a destination, that destination controls its copy.

Intellectual property

Blue Sparrow and its licensors retain rights in the app software, original interface, branding, compilations and other protected materials. Sikh scripture, traditional teachings and historical materials may include public-domain, traditional, licensed or attributed sources; inclusion in Ik Onkar does not create ownership over an underlying teaching or scripture.

You receive a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to use Ik Onkar on supported devices under these terms and applicable app-store rules. You retain rights in original material you submit. You grant Blue Sparrow only the limited permission needed to process content you intentionally send for support. When you share a passage or generated card, you are responsible for the context, recipients and any rights applying to included material.

If you believe content is inaccurate, misattributed or raises a rights concern, contact [email protected] with enough detail for review.

Availability and disclaimers

Blue Sparrow works to keep Ik Onkar useful and secure but does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, perfect translations, complete source coverage, error-free operation, compatibility with every device or successful pausing of every selected app. Operating-system restrictions, device vendors and other apps can affect usage detection, overlays, notifications, widgets, background behavior, purchases and updates.

Never rely on Ik Onkar to restrict access where failure could create harm. Do not use meditation, breathing, reading or audio features while driving or during an activity requiring full attention. Choose audio volume and session duration suitable for your surroundings and wellbeing.

To the extent permitted by applicable rules, Ik Onkar is provided as available and responsibility is limited to reasonably foreseeable loss caused by a failure to use reasonable care. Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts rights or remedies that cannot validly be excluded where you live.

Termination

You may stop using Ik Onkar at any time. Remember to cancel an active subscription, manage shared copies and clear local data separately.

Blue Sparrow may suspend or restrict connected features for serious misuse, fraud, security risk, material breach, non-payment, provider requirements or discontinuation of a service. Where reasonably possible, notice and an opportunity to correct the issue will be provided. Provisions that naturally continue, including ownership, completed-payment responsibilities, service limitations and privacy-related obligations, remain effective after use ends.

Changes

Ik Onkar and these terms may evolve. Material changes will be explained through the app or https://bluesparrow.dev and will show a new updated date. Advance notice will be provided where required. Continued use after the effective date means the revised terms apply; if you do not accept them, stop using the service and manage any subscription or data.
