Decaf Terms of Use

Acceptance

These terms apply when you install, access or use Decaf. By using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Decaf. If you make choices for someone who cannot accept these terms independently, you confirm that you are authorised to do so.

Blue Sparrow operates Decaf as a solo developer based in India. These terms work alongside the Decaf Privacy Policy, Google Play terms and the terms of any optional provider you use. Mandatory consumer protections available where you live remain unaffected.

Service

Decaf provides tools for caffeine-reduction planning, daily check-ins, symptoms and notes, timelines, educational content, reminders, milestones, trend views, exports and an optional signed-in peer community. Core personal tracking can work locally. Account, community, push, backup, purchase, support and store-update features require connectivity and may rely on third-party services.

Decaf is a self-tracking and general educational aid. It is not a medical device and does not provide diagnosis, treatment, emergency support or a guarantee that caffeine reduction will produce a particular health, sleep, mood, energy or productivity outcome. Timelines and insights describe general patterns or calculations from information you enter; individual experiences differ. Seek advice from an appropriately qualified health professional for severe, persistent or concerning symptoms, pregnancy, medication interactions or other personal health questions. Use emergency services available where you live for an urgent health situation.

Accounts and security

You can use core tracking without an account. Google sign-in creates a Firebase identity used for connected features. Community use, cloud backup, exports and premium features may require the account or access tier shown in the app. Use only an account you are permitted to use, provide accurate information where required and protect your device, Google account and authentication methods.

You are responsible for activity through your device or account unless applicable protections provide otherwise. Notify [email protected] if you reasonably believe access has been compromised. Signing out or deleting local data does not automatically delete the Firebase identity, Firestore profile, Decaf API community record, community content, provider purchases, support messages or every backup. Follow the Privacy Policy process for a broader account-data request.

Responsibilities

Use Decaf lawfully, safely and respectfully. You must not:

• Interfere with Decaf, connected services, security controls or another person's use.
• Attempt unauthorised access, introduce malicious code, scrape or automate abusive requests, evade rate limits or bypass paid-feature controls.
• Misrepresent an identity, impersonate another person or use an account without permission.
• Submit unlawful, threatening, exploitative, deceptive or seriously harmful material, or content that violates another person's privacy or intellectual-property rights.
• Use Decaf as a substitute for urgent or professional care, or encourage another member to ignore appropriate health advice.
• Redistribute substantial parts of the app, educational catalogue or branding where those materials are protected.

You decide what to record, export, back up or share. Protect sensitive notes and exported files, verify recipients before sharing and keep an independent copy of anything you cannot replace.

Community and user content

The Decaf community is an account-linked shared space. Posts, replies, display names, reactions and profile information can be visible to other signed-in members and are synchronized with the Decaf service. A display name is not a promise of anonymity. Do not include private health, identity, contact, payment or location information unless you intentionally want it shared with that audience.

You retain the rights you have in original content you create. You give Blue Sparrow a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to host, store, copy, transmit, format, display and moderate that content only as reasonably needed to operate, secure, improve and explain the community. This permission ends when the content is deleted from active use, subject to reasonable technical, safety, integrity, backup and applicable record needs.

Blue Sparrow may review reports and remove, restrict or preserve content or account activity where reasonably needed for member safety, service integrity, rights protection or applicable obligations. Reporting does not guarantee a particular result or response time. Local save, hide or block controls affect your app experience and do not necessarily remove content for other members. If another member's content suggests an urgent danger, use appropriate local emergency or professional support instead of relying on community moderation.

Subscriptions and purchases

Decaf offers free functionality and may offer trials, subscriptions, lifetime access or other premium products. The features, price, billing period and any trial conditions displayed at purchase are the terms for that offer. Google Play processes payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds under its rules; RevenueCat helps validate and deliver entitlements. Blue Sparrow does not receive your full payment-card details.

Subscriptions may renew automatically unless cancelled through Google Play before the applicable renewal time. Deleting Decaf, local data or an account does not cancel a store subscription. Manage or cancel it through Google Play. Access can take time to refresh and may depend on a valid receipt, connectivity and the store account used for purchase. Refund, withdrawal or cooling-off rights required where you live remain available.

Blue Sparrow may change future prices or plan contents with the notice required by the purchase platform or applicable consumer rules. A future change will not retroactively alter an already completed one-time purchase.

Cloud features

Optional Firebase identity and profile functions, the Decaf community, push delivery, support submission, Google Drive backup and purchase validation depend on connected or third-party services. Their availability, account rules and privacy terms also apply.

When you request Google Drive backup, Decaf encrypts supported profile and check-in data before uploading it to the app-data area of your own Drive account. Backup coverage is limited and does not include every local table or the synchronized community. Automatic backup and checkpoint cleanup are best-effort. Backup and restore are convenience features, not the sole copy you should rely on for irreplaceable information.

Device backups and CSV, JSON or PDF exports are ordinary files and are not encrypted by Decaf. Once you choose a save location, print service, share target or recipient, that destination controls its copy. You are responsible for choosing a safe destination and understanding that deleting Decaf does not retrieve a file already shared elsewhere.

Intellectual property

Blue Sparrow and its licensors retain rights in the Decaf software, original interface, branding, educational catalogue, compilations and other protected materials. You receive a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to use Decaf on supported devices under these terms and applicable app-store rules.

You retain rights in private notes, community contributions and other original content you create. The limited permissions needed for community operation, support submissions, backups and exports are described in these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you believe Decaf material is inaccurate or raises a rights concern, contact [email protected] with enough detail for review.

Availability and disclaimers

Blue Sparrow works to keep Decaf useful and secure, but does not guarantee uninterrupted service, perfect educational content, complete data preservation, compatibility with every device, delivery of every reminder or push message, successful restore, or a particular community or personal outcome. Operating-system restrictions, provider outages, account state, network conditions and software changes can affect connected features.

Use your own judgment when changing caffeine intake. Decaf cannot assess your full health history or monitor a medical emergency. Community members are independent users; their statements are not verified professional advice or endorsements by Blue Sparrow.

To the extent permitted by applicable rules, Decaf is provided as available and responsibility is limited to reasonably foreseeable loss caused by a failure to use reasonable care. Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts rights or remedies that cannot validly be excluded where you live.

Termination

You may stop using Decaf at any time. Cancel an active subscription separately and manage cloud, community and exported copies as described in the Privacy Policy.

Blue Sparrow may suspend or restrict an account or connected feature for serious misuse, fraud, safety or security risk, material breach, non-payment, provider requirements or discontinuation of a service. Where reasonably possible, notice and an opportunity to correct the issue will be provided. Provisions that naturally continue, including ownership, completed-payment responsibilities, user-content permissions for retained copies, service limitations and privacy obligations, remain effective after use ends.

Changes

Decaf and these terms may evolve. Material changes will be explained through the app or https://bluesparrow.dev and will show a new updated date. Advance notice will be provided where required. Continued use after the effective date means the revised terms apply; if you do not accept them, stop using the service and manage any subscription, community content, backup or export.
